Model 2000 Roller
Micrometer
Size and sort small parts for go/no-go determination
prior to production or processing -- quickly, easily, and with unprecedented accuracy.
There may be many ways to size and sort small parts,
but none is as quick, easy, convenient, sensible, and cost effective as our roller
micrometer.

Our roller micrometer functions as an
automated thickness gauge. Sort solder spheres for BGA and flip chip applications,
steel/plastic/composite bearings, metal stampings, solder pre-forms, washers, ceramic
tubes, metal studs, glass beads, tungsten carbide forms -- virtually any part up to
0.5" in size.
How It Works
The principle employed is simple, yet precise, and
lends itself to automation. The rollers are precision machined and highly polished;
they are mounted parallel and level with one another and both rotate upward and outward at
the point where parts are introduced. Adjustable legs permit operation in a tilted
position so that parts move down the incline between the rollers. One of the
rollers is adjustable at one end to create a wedge-shaped opening so that parts introduced
into the micrometer fall through at different places depending on their diameter or
dimension being gauged. Parts are caught in collectors.
Roller micrometers easily sort solder spheres,
stampings, tubes, preforms, glass beads, and many other parts with tolerances as close as
0.0001" ± 0.00001" (2.54µm ± 0.25µm).
